Pharmacogenomics Knowledge to Action (PGxK2A) Lab

Welcome to Pharmacogenomics Knowledge to Action (PGxK2A) Lab at the University of Manitoba College of Pharmacy!

The overarching aim of PGxK2A Lab is to facilitate the development, evaluation, and implementation of evidence-informed precision medicine tools to guide the safe and effective use of medications with a primary focus on vulnerable populations. Our research program is collaborative and follows a teacher-scholar model that involves scholarly activities with students, innovative teaching approaches, and service activities to the institution, the profession, and society.

Our current research priorities are:
  • Translating pharmacogenetics (PGx) knowledge [Discovery] into action [Clinical Implementation]. #PGxK2A
  • Conducting knowledge translation (#PGx-KT), implementation, and educational research (#PharmEd) to help expand the scope of pharmacy practice to personalized medicine (#IP3).
  • Conducting pharmacovigilance studies and developing toxicology tools to understand and prevent adverse drug reactions (ADRs).

Our lab is also involved in mental health research collaborating with local and international public health researchers and community groups.
